A figure with an open, knowing gaze and a subtle, almost mischievous smile. Companion is about the reassuring presence of someone who stands beside you, offering encouragement without needing words. Perhaps that companion is someone else, or perhaps it is the person looking back at you in the mirror. Someone who sees you, believes in you and gives you the confidence to follow your own path.
Painted with expressive, spontaneous brushstrokes and flowing, intuitive patterns, the work carries a sense of freedom and warmth. Its playful character contrasts with the more introspective figures in The Deserted Girl series.
This is an original, one of a kind work.
