While working on this painting, a face unexpectedly appeared. I had no intention of making a figure, but once it emerged, I decided to follow it.

For me, this work brings together my figurative practice of The Deserted Girl and the world of Nebular Fields. A face rising from a field of colour and light, without a fixed narrative or destination. It came into being almost effortlessly, and left me wondering where this path might lead.
